The Greater Cambridge City Deal is currently formulating a package of measures which will find solutions to peak time congestion in Cambridge’s city centre.
The City Deal Team is putting forward an eight-point package of measures to tackle congestion which are:
- Better bus services and expanded use of Park & Ride
- Better pedestrian and cycling infrastructure
- Improved public space and air quality
- Peak-time Congestion Control Points (PCCPs) in the weekday morning and evening peaks
- A workplace parking levy
- On-Street Parking Controls (including Residents’ Parking)
- Smart technology
- Travel planning improvements
Obtaining the views of employers and employees is a crucial part of this process and City Deal would like to offer workplaces the opportunity to book a ‘lunch-time briefing’ for staff with members of the project team who will come to your workplace and give a presentation on the proposals and hand out copies of the information leaflet and questionnaire.
The project team are available for ‘lunch-time briefings’ from now until 10 October and you can book a place by contacting Helen Hames.
