Sustainability

For those of you who worked towards your Gold Green Impact certification this year, you will know that supporting an Engage for Change student was worth 6 points (G024). Engage for Change is a 12 week programme for students keen to engage in sustainable action funded by Cambridge Zero and the Sustainability Team. Students receive 1.5 hours of training each week and one to one support in designing and executing their project. They will also have the opportunity to meet like minded students also keen to take part in Climate Action. The Cambridge Hub work with the students to support them on being Climate Leaders within the University.

Some projects past students have done are working with gardeners to introduce hedgehog houses, working on vegan/vegetarian options with catering teams, installing battery recycling points at their college and evaluating energy efficiency in their department. Many of the Green Impact actions you are aiming to achieve could be completed by an Engage for Change student with your support.

You can find out more in the Engage for Change Application Pack and on Cambridge Hub's website. Please share the Engage for Change Application Form and the other linked documents widely within your college and/or department.  Applications close on the 18th October 2022.
