West Hub opening until 21:00 restored
We are aware that the early closure of the top level was challenging for users and that this area is a very different working environment to other levels of the West Hub and houses precious resources for Biochemical Engineering and Computer Science. We are pleased to update that in January we put in place an external security contractor to help us stabilise the opening of the top level of the West Hub. We also have new evening team members arriving to support our evening opening hours.
The West Hub is now open from 08:00 until 21:00 with all levels available for users during this timeframe.
Our meeting rooms and multi-use spaces are available from 08:00 until 21:00 for meetings as well as serviced and non-serviced events Monday to Friday. You can find out more about booking our spaces on our collaborate page, chatting with us at the information desk on level one or by emailing the team.
What’s open when at the West Hub?

Our Library services team are onsite from 09:00 until 16:00 with the collection available for the duration of the opening hours.

The Canteen serves breakfast from 08:00 until 11:00 with hot lunch service from 12:00 until 14:30 and the grab and go serving coffee from 08.00 until 16.00 in term time. Please be aware out of term the grab and go closes from 15:00.

The Café Bar serves from 11:00 until 20:00 Monday to Friday with a selection of coffee, cakes, small plates and main meals and after work drinks available.

The Shop opens from 09:30 until 18:00 with the last post being collected from the building at 15:45.

The Media Lab has arrived.
On site at the West Hub, we have put together a Media Lab that can help you create digital content such as promotional videos, podcasts, in conversations and recorded presentations. Its open for university use as well as commercial use and is managed by our Senior AV and IT Technician. If you have some content that needs creating come along and speak with the team and save on those contractor’s costs!

Hospitality at the West Hub is back
Following a downtime period due to staffing, The University Catering Service is now able to provide onsite catering once again at the West Hub. This can be booked for the meeting rooms on the second floor as part of your regular university meetings as well as your serviced events in our multiuse spaces.
