Our governance
The Estates Committee are responsible for all matters relating to the environmental sustainability performance of the University’s operational estate.
The Research Policy Committee have established a Sustainable Research Working Group to provide strategic oversight for policy relating to the sustainable design and delivery of research activities at the University.
The Environmental Sustainability Strategy Committee (ESSC) provides strategic oversight of the University’s commitments to environmental sustainability. There are currently three sub-committees of the ESSC, the:
- Carbon Offsetting Working Group. A fixed-term sub-committee tasked with developing an internal carbon offsetting scheme.
- Ecological Advisory Panel. Provide strategic oversight of the University’s commitment to biodiversity and ecosystems.
- Transport Working Group. Responsible for the development, implementation and review of the University’s Transport Strategy.
