Assistant Carbon Manager

The Assistant Carbon Manager has a focus and leads on reducing the carbon impact of the University's labs and lab-based research. The post also leads on calculation of the University's carbon emissions figures, and supports the Carbon Manager with implementation of a broad programme of initiatives to reduce the University's carbon emissions.

About you:

  • Project management experience;
  • Knowledge of a range of environment sustainability matters, in particular those relating to carbon management, research labs and facilities;

Building Energy Manager

The Building Energy Manager plays an instrumental part in a well-established and rapidly growing energy and carbon reduction programme across the University Estate. With a proven track record in improving building energy efficiency and carbon reduction activities, the post holder will manage energy and carbon reduction initiatives from initial identification through site surveys or data analysis, to practical implementation, monitoring and reporting. The post involves extensive engagement and collaboration with a range of stakeholders across the University, hence strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate technical issues to a range of audiences is a key requirement.

Carbon and Energy Team Lead

The Carbon and Energy Team Lead plays a key role in supporting the Head of Sustainability with management and leadership of the team, and developing the University's strategic approach to environmental sustainability. Heading up the Carbon and Energy team, part of the Environmental Sustainability Team, the post holder is responsible for overseeing and ensuring delivery against the University's carbon reduction commitments, and robust management of its utilities. The post leads on a wide programme of carbon reduction activity and, as the principal source of guidance for the University on matters relating to carbon and utility management, has extensive contact with staff at all levels throughout the University and with external partners and organisations.
