Universal Bus with driver holding ticket roll

The University of Cambridge’s 2023 annual travel survey is now open, and all staff are invited to complete it online by 5pm on 30 October.

The short survey, which takes less than five minutes to complete, asks about how you travelled to work each day, and around Cambridge during the day (for the week commencing 9 October).  Results from the survey help the University to understand how staff get to work and to calculate the carbon emissions from staff travel.

The annual travel survey forms an essential part of the University’s Transport Strategy which includes a target of 75% of staff members regularly commuting to work by sustainable modes of travel.  Last year one in five staff completed the survey and responses showed more staff working from their workplace than in 2021 with 60% at their workplace on any given day.

When working from home is included 79% of staff travel to work by sustainable modes. The percentage was 68% when working from home is excluded – slightly lower than in 2021.
