Sustainability

The University is aware of the operational issues with the Universal Bus service. These are a combination of driver and vehicle shortage from Whippet the operator of the Universal, and the ongoing closure of the southern bus way causing delays on Hills Road to the whole bus network. The University has met with Whippet and is satisfied that they are doing everything possible to manage the situation with the available resources.

The University has invested in a new fleet of electric buses, which are expected to commence operation this summer. This will lead to an improvement in the reliability and quality of the service. The Universal is a busy service and carries an average of 16,000 passengers a week; please remain courteous to the drivers, as they are doing their best during this challenging period.
