What is Cambridge Retrofit?

Cambridge Retrofit is an initiative with participants from over 50 local businesses, government bodies and educators to ‘retrofit’ existing buildings over the next 30 years, through improvements in energy efficiency which will lower energy consumption and/or change occupant behaviour.  Cambridge Retrofit works by mobilising the community to work together to help achieve national energy and carbon reduction targets. Over the past 18 months the partners within Cambridge Retrofit have carried out pilot projects, including some on the University estate, to learn what does and does not work in achieving cost effective retrofits to buildings.

Cambridge Retrofit are taking the lessons learnt from these projects and launching a retrofit programme that will be available throughout the Cambridgeshire area during spring 2016.
