Flexible bus and train tickets to reflect new ways of working

Stagecoach have recognised that weekly and monthly passes are likely to be less popular in the future due to more flexible working patterns. In response, they have launched new Flexi tickets which can be used in their ‘MegaRider area’ and on the Busway between Cambridge and St Ives. You can purchase Flexi tickets in bundles of five or 10, you then have 12 months within which to use your bus ticket.

Similarly, Greater Anglia have introduced their own Flexi Season ticket, which enables eight days of travel in any 28-day period between two destinations on their network. The new ticket gives at least a 20% saving compared to a monthly ticket.

The University’s Universal bus continues to operate across the south and west of the city. It links Eddington, West Cambridge and the Biomedical Campus with the city centre and railway station, operating seven days per week. University card holders can travel for just £1 per trip.

Last few free bike lockers at park & ride sites

Free bike lockers are available for staff at Newmarket Road and Madingley Road park & ride sites. The lockers enable a bike and accessories to be securely stored in a weather-proof lockable steel box. Staff can park their car at the park & ride site for free, and then continue their journey into the city on a bike, returning it to the locker at the end of the working day.

If you would like a locker please contact travel@admin.cam.ac.uk.
