Sustainability

The University's Environment & Energy Section have produced a waste & recycling dashboard, which is now available to Tableau users at the University of Cambridge.

Since 2017 the University's main waste contractor Veolia (formerly Mick George Ltd) has weighed each bin it collects from the majority of University sites, and this information has now been adapted into a user-friendly portal which breaks the data down into totals by School, Department, Faculty and site. The data aims to help University staff benchmark the performance of their institution in comparison with with other parts of the University, identify trends in waste generation, as well as examine rates of recycling over time. Waste performance varies significantly across the University, so be sure to visit the portal to see how your institution performs and what you can do to address it!
