Sustainability Engagement Manager

The Role:

The University of Cambridge is seeking a knowledgeable and committed individual to join the University's Environmental Sustainability Team as Sustainability Engagement Manager.

The Environmental Sustainability Team provides strategic direction, expert advice and operational support to enable the University to achieve its environmental sustainability commitments. 

This role plays a vital role in this work by ensuring the University's commitments are clearly communicated to and understood by internal and external stakeholders, and engaging staff in initiatives and programmes aimed at creating a sustainable university. The post holder will lead on developing and delivering a range of engagement initiatives tailored to different audiences across the University, covering topics ranging from energy and waste to travel and biodiversity.

About you

Candidates should have excellent inter-personal and communications skills and have experience of delivering internal and external communications to a range of audiences. In addition, candidates should have a passion for, and knowledge of, a range of environmental sustainability-related issues. Prior experience in developing and managing environmental sustainability projects and engagement programmes is an advantage.

Location: The position will be based in Cambridge and managed within the Environmental Sustainability Team in the Estates Division and will be based primarily in Greenwich House, with flexibility to work from home for part of the week. The successful candidate will be expected to work flexibly, in regard to location, to meet the requirements of the job including travel across Cambridge.
