Sustainability

After almost five years and well over 200 replacement projects, the Equipment Replacement Programme (ERP) is undergoing a refresh this year. To make sure the programme continues to deliver energy and carbon savings, as well as facilitate smarter equipment purchasing choices, our funding options for you are changing.

The headlines are:

  • Replacing an old ultra-low temperature (-80’C) freezer with a new energy efficient one may now receive up to 25% of the cost of the new unit from the ERP.
  • Purchasing of new energy efficient additional equipment is no longer eligible for ERP funding.
  • The types and models of energy efficient equipment that the ERP will support will be reviewed over 2021.

Collectively, ERP projects completed to date have saved enough electricity to power an electric car 14 times around the circumference of our planet! The latest updates to the initiative aim to increase these energy savings, distribute funding fairly and enable environmentally-responsible equipment choices.

Full details, updated guidelines and the application form can be found here. Please contact us with any questions about applying for funding.
