UniGreenScheme

A common problem at the University of Cambridge is that unwanted research equipment is often disposed of as waste. This redundant equipment is potentially valuable and re-useable, but re-use options can be limited, especially when research departments are short on time and space. To help tackle this issue, the University’s Environment & Energy section launched a collaboration with the UniGreenScheme equipment resale service in early 2018.

UniGreenScheme collect, store and sell surplus equipment for universities, and return a share of the profits from sales to the department.

Key benefits:

  • Quickly recoup space with Unigreenscheme's rapid collection service.
  • Get money back for surplus equipment.
  • Help prevent waste without any hassle.
