Car Clubs are a great way to use a vehicle without owning it. There’s no need to worry about servicing or maintenance and no need to pay the vehicle tax. The vehicles are modern (some are electric) and can be booked in advance.
How it works
- Cars are located throughout Cambridge,
- Booked through either Enterprise Car Club or Zipcar,
- Cars can be hired 24 hours a day for periods of as little as an hour at a time,
- Annual fees and hourly rate will be paid for by direct debit with your chosen operator,
- Minimum age for driving Enterprise car club vehicles is 19 years of age and 21 years of age with Zipcar. (older for some classes of cars/vans).

New Offer for 2023 is available here. Registering will enrol you onto the plan Zipcar have for Cambridge University staff and students (waiving the £10 application fee). Membership gives users up to 15% discount on vehicle hire (depending on the vehicle and time) and this will cost them £25 per year.
Please note: Zipcar have raised the minimum age requirements of drivers from 19 to now 21. Regrettably, this will rule out a lot of students from being eligible to use Zipcar.
