How to contribute to the Transport Strategy

It is important that the changes we make result in real improvements in people’s travel experiences. We invite members of staff who are interested in this work to sign up to our transport consultation group, to receive updates on our work according to area of interest. We will be holding discussions for staff on specific areas of the strategy: further details will continue to be posted below and will be sent to members of the transport consultation group.

University Bus Service Review: student survey

The University’s travel and transport team are carrying out a review of the Universal bus service and are asking students to provide feedback about the current service and how it might be improved. The views of University and College staff and the wider community will also be sought – a separate survey will follow in the next month.

We are currently reviewing the Universal Bus Service (operated by Go-Whippet) and would like to hear students' views on how it might be improved in the future. Feedback is important to help us improve the University’s bus service.

If you are a student and you currently use, have previously used, or would like to use the Universal bus service, you can get involved in two ways:

  1. Complete a short survey by 19 January 2020. All respondents will have the chance to win £100!
  1. Participate in a focus group discussion. The student focus groups will be held on Thursday 5 December 2019. Each session will last around 1-1½ hours and will be held at the University. If you would like to take part, please sign up via the survey.

The survey and focus group findings will help guide the future development of the service.

Car Parking Permit Allocation Policy: focus groups for staff

We have teamed up with the Process Improvement team at OurCambridge to run focus groups on the car parking permit allocation policy for staff. As part of the University’s new Transport Strategy, we are reviewing the University’s approach to car parking permits to make sure these spaces are managed consistently and transparently across the University, and are allocated to the people who need them most. The sessions will run between December 2019 and February 2020.

Those who signed up to the Transport Consultation List by 12th November will have been invited to attend a focus group. There are still spaces on the focus groups at CBC on the 9th December and 11th February. If you would like to attend these sessions please email travel@admin.cam.ac.uk to obtain the password to register.
