Sustainability

The University closes this week for a well-earned break, but before we all rush out the door staff are asked to take just five minutes to make sure everything that can be switched off, is. This may seem like common sense, but many would be amazed at how many items are left on over holidays and weekends. A comprehensive switch off, as you can see below, means we reduce our energy usage to the absolute minimum over Christmas.

Of particular concern are items that could be left on standby, such as computer screens; however, office fridges should also be cleared out and switched off where possible. Be sure to switch all items off at the socket for an energy saving Christmas!
