Ever wondered how the University interacts with proposed transport projects in the Cambridge area?

Jess Cunningham is the University’s Greater Cambridge Partnership (GCP) Engagement Coordinator and her job is to make sure the University is informed about key strategic transport projects in the surrounding area. Schemes include Network Rail’s proposed South Station development which has just announced its preferred location, the autonomous metro and the GCP’s multimillion-pound proposals for vital infrastructure in Greater Cambridge. Jess acts as a conduit for information between the strategic partner project teams and University departments, facilitating cooperation and joint working to achieve effective transport solutions.

You can find out the latest on some of the projects we’ve mentioned here:

Cambridge Autonomous Metro - Sub Strategy Consultation.

The vision is for an expansive metro-style network that seamlessly connects regional settlements, major city fringe employment sites and key satellite growth areas across the region with key railway stations and Cambridge city centre, helping to nurture and sustain long-term regional economic growth. You can read the CAM Sub Strategy or have your say in the CAM Sub Strategy Consultation survey.
