On 9 June over 500 cyclists came to Eddington, the new community being delivered by the University of Cambridge, for the first ever Eddington Cycling Festival.

The festival was a fun, family-friendly day for residents and the wider Cambridge community to celebrate Cambridge’s proud cycling tradition. Visitors made smoothies, watched films and listened to music all delivered by pedal power. There were also inner tube and Brompton bike challenges where attendees went face-to-face to test their skills!

The visitors included University Pro-Vice Chancellors Andy Neely and Chris Abell, who came to show their support for the University’s Eddington Number Challenge. This is a challenge where participants are able to calculate their number and track their progress on the Eddington Number website and connect with other cyclists using the Strava platform. There is still time to join in the challenge, register now and see how you can increase your time on the bike.
