Sustainability

As part of their ongoing Green Impact work, the Department of Politics and International Studies has taken a number of measures to ‘bee’ more biodiverse. The team have used posters in kitchens and staff social areas to promote the importance of planting bee friendly flowers, and have practised what they preached by placing a planter onto the balcony with bee loving plants like sunflowers and wildflowers. Green Team members Lydia Mizon and Emma Cantu set up an activity day over the Easter holidays and built ‘bee hotels’ (see below) which will be placed around the Sidgwick Site.

With blossoms in bloom all over the city, the busy bees are sure to appreciate what has been created for them on the Sidgwick site.
