Sustainability

The Environment and Energy section has a new member, Amy Moore is the new Travel Coordinator. Read on to learn more about Amy and her interests:

Name:  Amy Moore

Position: Transport Coordinator (a brand new post)

What does this position entail? I implement the activities set out in University’s Travel Plan and ensure staff are aware of the many sustainable travel options available to them.

What is your (education/qualifications) background and how did you get here? I completed a degree in Psychology with Criminology and have a background in behaviour change.

What were you doing before joining the Environment and Energy section? Working on a Department for Transport funded project at Living Streets to encourage walking to work and school.

What is your proudest professional achievement? Supporting a group of students to present their walking project to Ministers at Westminster.

What are you most looking forward to getting your teeth into in the coming year?  Instilling a culture of sustainable travel for the new residents at North-West Cambridge Development, and producing lots of lovely maps!

What gets you out of bed (and into work) in the morning? My 18 month old – he’s a 5:30am alarm clock!

What is your environment and energy pet hate? Littering

What is your favourite green gadget? Bicycle.

What do you think is the biggest environmental challenge? Getting people to change their behaviour and break their habits.

Tell us one little known fact about yourself.  I am currently obsessed with Grey’s Anatomy.

Who is your inspirational figure (real or fictional)? Miranda Bailey (Grey’s Anatomy!)

Do you have any hobbies? Mainly spending time with friends and family, but I also like  cooking, yoga and walking my dog.

First impressions of Cambridge? Love it, lots of heritage and good shops!
