Sustainability

There’s a lot going on with the Living Laboratory for Sustainability at the moment:

The Cambridge Carbon Challenge will see its second round of judging at the beginning of April. Teams are in the process of compiling their business cases which will be submitted within the next few days.  The judges will then determine whose ideas will be approved for funding and implementation, as well as determining the overall winner. The winner will be announced at an Awards Ceremony in June, the details of which will be available in the May edition of Greenlines.

Our interns have been recruited for this year’s summer internships – it was tough competition with over 70 high calibre applications for just three spaces. We are excited to welcome two of them into our team in July; they will be getting stuck into work around biodiversity and sustainable food. Our third successful candidate will be heading off to Japan to work with our counterparts at the University of Tokyo!

Many projects are in full swing with data requests, analysis, meetings being set up; and as we enter the final term of the year thoughts turn to what projects are to come for 2017/18. For any students looking for inspiration on what to focus their dissertation or project on, take a look at our case studies for an idea of past projects, and have a read about some possible future projects.
