2014-2015 statistics

Energy consumption

The University total energy consumption including electricity, oil, natural gas, biomass, steam and hot water and onsite photo voltaic was 243 million kWh and costs over £16 million, which is £1865 and hour.

Water consumption

Across the University estate we used 366,109 mand costs £726,607.

Waste

From our offices, labs and workshops we threw away 3,034 tonnes of non-residential waste. Of which, 41% was recycled.

Construction projects across the estate produced 4,976 tonnes of waste and recycled 93%.

The total amount of hazardous waste produced was 92 tonnes, which includes toner cartridges, lead batteries and clinical and chemical waste from labs.
